Does the fuel pump have a check valve?
Thanks Rob. Is that the primary method of holding pressure in the fuel lines while the car is shut off?
Does this also mean that as long as the ball has a good seal, the fuel should not run back in the tank even if an injector is leaky or the regulator has a pin hole in the diaphragm? See where I'm going with this?

yes, in fact some hard start issues stem from the check valve leaking and all the pressure in the fuel lines going away. If an injector is leaking fuel will not run back in the tank, it will run into the cylinders (much worse) however a leaky FPR diaphram could cause fuel to run into the return line and back into the tank.

Ever since my Walbro 255 was installed by a local shop, the fuel system will not hold pressure if the engine is not running. Does the Walbro not have a check valve? Is the one from the stock pump supposed to be switch over? Someone on here said maybe the feed line was leaking, but I have always wondered about the check valve. Now that the car is not my daily anymore I plan on rectifing this. Can anyone elaborate on this?

It only makes sense then that any in-tank fuel pump have a check valve. If I were you, I would contact Walbro directly and ask them if their pump has a check valve. You could also ask Professor Overdrive at Summit via internet.
