Does E.G.R./A.I.R. removal throw any codes?

I have a '94Z. Is this worth doing and if it is what can I expect to gain from this? Will this throw any codes? Do I need to program the PCM? Sorry about all the nagging questions. I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row.

You must have a good fuse in for it not to throw a code for the AIR pump after it is removed. For OBD-I, if you leave the EGR solenoid in place it probably won't throw a code. It may if you remove it. Removing either/both does not increase performance.

you won't get a AIR code but EGR may show up every once in a while. Mine did but then i had it programmed out.

I removed the AIR and the EGR and no codes so far.
I took the valve off and the related hoses and put block off plates on the holes in the manifold.
No problems so far.
