Does a/c delete need tune w/ obd2?

I have a 97 z28 with obd2. I was wondering whether or not it will need to get a tune if i get rid of the a/c system. I dont want it to throw codes.

Also, i think i know what im doing but does anyone have a link to an a/c delete guide?

Btw, does anyone know the cheapest way to bypass the system belt wise? I see the pulley goin for 50+$ and it just doesnt seem worth it. Is there any cheaper way?

It doesn't throw a code. Get the 1LE pulley and be done with it.

I can't see what would be easier/cheaper than putting on a pulley in place of the compressor. The pulley is only $37 wholesale, brand new.

I did the A/C Delete on my 94. The removal didn't throw a SES light, however it did have a trouble code stored in the memory. I forget which one it was though.

I got error/DTC 66 air conditioning short? It's on my 94 OBDI. Sorry for bringing up an old thread but maybe it'll explain my draining battery. Hmmm

OBD2 does have several DTCs for the A/C system. After all, refrigerant is damaging to the environment so it would make sense for them to regulate yet another thing on modern day vehicles. I had my A/C codes "disabled" when I had my mail-order tune done by www.madz28.com last summer in anticipation for gutting out my A/C system this upcoming spring.

No problem, also another thought, check the Parts for Sale forum as well. I purchased my 1LE pulley for 30.00 shipped off of one guy and he even threw in the belt as well.
