Does anyone have the b&b triflow?

http://www.bbtriflo.com/New/auto-htm...ge=camaro.html

I'm planning on getting a new exhaust and this is at the top of my list.

I want relatively quiet and stainless and interesting looks. Borla is not on my list except maybe for the tips.

Anyone have any experience with this on an LT1 car?

I'm just curious, not trying to convince you of anything...

Borla is generally considered to be a high quality choice, the mufflers flow really well on the few tests I've seen and they're quiet.

Why did you write them off?
Is it just the price or was there something else?

I installed one for a guy. We put the middle plate in. I find it obnoxious noisy, and I don't like the sound. That leaves me with the choice of the plate that routes all flow through the muffler which gives me a single exhaust outlet that flows. I don't like that idea much. It'll look really goofy/phony in cool weather seeing only one pipe flow.

I had b and b on my 97 ta and it sounded great..not loud or annoying and no real annoying resonance either. I moved it to my 99 trans am and happy with it on there also. I had cats on both the 97 and 99.
I got a cheaper magnaflow on my 96z. I found it too loud ,maybe because it is a vert and so far have put a flo pro twister bullet in there to quiet it down and I still seem to have some annoying resonance at certain speeds..around 60mph. I plan on installing some pilot resonator tips in the tailpipes.

Anyway back to the B and B.I like it a lot. It was pricey but it sounds nice and should never rust. Also it won't attract the attention of the cops much as long as you have cats. If you cut off your cats not sure how loud it would get.

If you thought magnaflow was too loud with cats, B&B Tri-Flo must be quieter than stock!

Re: Does anyone have the b&b triflow?

Magnaflow is a hell of a deal, but it is raunchy loud for my tastes. Maybe it's 'cause I'm almost 50 years old. <shrug>

Anyways, I'm pleased to hear that folks find the b&B a good quality piece and pleasant sound. I've only heard this setup once, and that was some time ago. You've re-inforced my earlier perceptions.

B&B it shall be I guess.

I am 47 so not exactly young either. The magnaflow might be ok on a hardtop car but it gets loud on a vert. The flo pro twister race bullet does a pretty good job of taking out some of the noise at part throttle and idle but leaves horsepower pretty much untouched at wot.

I don't have anyone say the b and b is too loud,I guess it fairly quiet but its louder than stock and has a nice ferrari sound to it. Smooth and minimal resonance.Resonance inside the car can get old real fast when it happens at a highway speed you usually go.

I have the B&B Exhaust on my 94 and love it. I have SLP Shorties and catted y pipe also. It has a nice throaty sound during acceleration and is quiet while cruising. It's a very nice looking setup too. You won't regret buying it.

I've got a B&B on mine. No complaints here. A little louder than stock but not too loud. Real low rumble with no rasp.

Re: Does anyone have the b&b triflow?

I have had the B&B tri flo on my 96 for about 4 years and love it as well. The fit and finish is excellent and the quad tips are the only way to go. I got mine from Lingenfelter and as such the tips are engraved with the logo. I am going to be ditching my cats when my turbo project is finished, but with the quieting effect turbos generally have, I dont anticipate it will be too loud. The sound is very refined in stock form, just like an exotic! YOu won't regret buying the B&B.

Oh yah!

I'm liking this more and more.

The description of it being a little louder than stock at idle is really what I'm after. I hate interior resonance, and it sounds as though that is not an issue either.

Quad tips will be in my order.

Re: Does anyone have the b&b triflow?

Have you ever seen the tips up close? If you ask me they look really goofy. If i was gonna buy a high dollar exhaust new i would get a Corsa. I have a Borla and am pretty happy with it. The real reason i went for it is because i got it for $275 shipped. If you get a Borla an Eborla plate can really make it fun. I run with mine completely closed 95% of the time and when i want to make some noise i just flip the switch.

Re: Does anyone have the b&b triflow?

Anyone have detailed photos of the B&B quad oval tips installed on their car that you want to share?

I went from a Borla to a GMMG and am now contemplating a B&B or Corsa.

The Borla sounded great, but after 8 years I decided a new look and new sound would be nice, so I installed a GMMG with the optional oval tips.

The GMMG also has a nice unique sound but is way too LOUD for me.
