Does anyone have 2 lives ?

The 1st life is LT's and the second life is a different exhaust at emissions time? I want Long Tubes but I am sure where I live they wont pass emissions. Is it recommended that I go ahead and do the LT's and when emissions time comes swap back in the stock exhaust ?

geesus i mean come on!! of course their not gonna pass you!! all that crap about wanting to go really fast and still have a street legal car not gonna happen! you either have to find some way to cheat around it, register your car in the nearest city that doesnt require emissions, or find a friend that will hook it up! i mean honestly, i cant imagine trying to build REAL HP with CATS and emissions tree hugger sh*t still on the car etc!

not tryin to be a dik to you im just saying in general to EVERYONE that whines about emissions and sh*t... yea it sux a dik and theres no way around TRYING to get your car to actually pass without cheating it somehow

Long tubes will pass the sniffer if the EGR and cats are operative, as long as you don't have a radical cam. If you have visual, maybe not.

I think visual is standard, because that is a federal offense not just area emissions. Of course, the visual inspection can include a $50 bill.

In Cleveland they just put a mirror under the car to check for a cat. No checks under the hood.

Or, you could go with the compromise and get something like ASM, Mac, or SLP headers and a high flow cat and still be legal while enhancing performance.

They're not as restrictive as you may thing. I'm making 375/363 at the wheels through ASM headers and a Random Tech high flow cat and cat back. Full exhaust system, a rather small cam comparatively, and completely legal.
