Does anybody have an LT1 block laying around?

Aren't the gen 1 blocks and the ltx blocks completely different because of the opti at the least? I might be wrong, but thats what I thought.

Let me know if I'm wrong

The water jackets in the Gen-1 (basic SBC) and Gen-2 (LT w/ reverse coolant flow) are completely different (both block and heads). Also, the LT water pump is completey different to match the reverse coolant flow and cooling passage ways in the block (both coolant inlet an outlet on each side of the block).

It's been done with aluminum aftermarket blocks, so it can be done however, your talking many thousands of dollars in machine work for a 200 dollar block.

If you really want a conversion do a search for Jeff Green he built a monster LT1 conversion.
Here's a pict of the LTX block I'd like to own.

Just build the Gen 1 SBC and be done with it. You can reverse cool a SBC as well, it just takes a couple lines.
