Does any one actually have ported Trickflows?

I'm just wondering. I've been searching through here trying to find out some info, and couldn't find anything. I'm just curious if anyone has them installed and what kind of numbers they put up. I have a set from Ai coming, full port, milled for stockish compression, and I'm thinking I might be a guinea pig Not that it's a bad thing. It'd actually be kind of cool. Anyways, just one of those "I'm bored so why not ask" kind of questions.

From what I gather, the heads are pretty much identicle to their standard 23 degree SBC head, simply with revised coolant flow. In other words you could do a google search on ported SBC trick flows and get a pretty good idea IMO.

Sweet, I'll check out the sbc numbers and see what I come up with, but anyone with these heads on our cars?

Sweet Action, sounds good. I'm waiting to see what mine run in the 1/4, however that will probably have to be after I have the money for a 12 bolt. 12 bolt and some Et streets, wheee!

I'll be picking up a ported pair in the next couple of day ported by Lloyd. We'll see how they flow.

Rock on, please let me know. When are you getting them installed? I want to see what track times I'll run with all the stuff I'm putting in.

I've seen a few sets. Some by Lloyd other ones done by Larry Meaux (MaxRace Software) You can get them too move some air and they are really nice for stroker LT1's and blown LT1's 290-300cfm is not a issue with them.

Has anyone done anything with the Edelbrocks yet? It seems like they have a lot of potential, with stock size ports and good exhaust flow out of the box. It would be nice to see what someone like Lloyd could do with them.

I'll have to see how they do when I get it all together. It'll be a few weeks, I'm still stuck in Iraq, waiting for my ride out of here.

Lloyd had some personal matters to take care yesterday and has the heads but didn't have time to flow them. I'm sure he will do that later this morning and as soon as I have the numbers, I'll post them.

Waiting on a cam that Lloyd and Bret put together for me based upon the heads and will probably pick up the heads and cam at the same time. Now if only my custom pistons will make it, we can pull the engine and put everything back together.

After three years of absence from racing I'm comming back this year but will mostly do things using a set of everyday tires such as you would drive your car in the rain with. Seems to be an upcomming thing vs a set of 15" wide slicks.

The "everyday" tires are about as good as Drag Radials if you know how to pick them.

I have yet to see a non drag radial street tire with soft compound that could compete with a drag radial. But heck man lead the way. It would pretty wicked to see a LT1 car running fast times on 100% street tires.

Suppose to be a secret weapon….. We’ve got a race set up in about a month and a half that I’ve been preparing for and the rules are….. LT engine, no power adders and no slicks or drag radials. Even though there will be some cars with power adders.

I’ll post afterwards how these tires work as they are supposed to be……… A secret! But within the rules of this shootout.

Re: Does any one actually have ported Trickflows?

I picked them up this afternoon. The heads flowed 246/155 @ .400 and 293/195 @ .600.

The intakes pretty good but the exhaust is a little weaker than I expected in the mid ranges. We’ll see how the car dyno’s as it appears they are very similar to LT4’s comparing same valves sizes.
