Does AFR make a 195cc LT1 Head?
Does AFR make a 195cc LT1 Head?
i ll be ordering the 12 bolt in a couple weeks, then its on for saving for new heads.my plans are a 355 s/c and id like to get the 195cc comp pkg afr heads.but i noticed they only have a small block chevy head and a lt4 head.Do they have a 195cc LT1 head design??i really dont want to convert to a lt4 if i dont have to.
Re: Does AFR make a 195cc LT1 Head?
They call the 195 an LT4 head because it requires the use of an LT4 intake manifold. There is really no "conversion" necessary other than using that intake in place of your LT1 intake.

Re: Does AFR make a 195cc LT1 Head?
AFR made the 190cc and a 195 cc, the 195 was recomended for an LT4 intake, but an LT1 worked fine on em. I went with the 190s a few years ago (when running a 350) wish now I'd gone the 210s (now a 383). they no longer make the 190ccs for LT1s now they only make the 180cc for LT1 then jump to 195 , but again recomend the LT4 intake.

No, the LT4 heads have a few tenths of an inch more material, the LT4 heads ports are higher. You could weld material onto the top of the LT1s ports to compensate, but unless you have the stuff to do this, it can be pricy.
