Do you loose HP/TQ 1/4 times/mph with Mcleod Street Twin?

exactly as stated, I got a Mcleod Street Twin, I"m upgrading to it from my stock clutch, I was just wondering if it will slow my car down, mainly if my MPH in the 1/4 mile will go up or down, & will my RWHP be lowered?

Thanx guys, cuz it seems heavy I have the steel flywheel.

LMAO, that's funny that you posted this the same night as I posted my problem.

I just put in the street twin last week. First time to the track tonight. Times suck. I'm .6-1.0 seconds off normal. Granted it's a bit warmer out, but here's the problem.

The street twin is GRAB AND GO. There's no slipping it at all. I was launching anywhere from idle to 2500, and it was just smoking them. Short times ranged from a best of 2.10 to a worst of 2.26 over a total of 5 runs.

It grabs awesome. I could hear the tires barking on the 2-3 and 3-4 shift big time. it will be great for slicks, but street/dr's may be tricky.

No.

It's a clutch. I don't think you can lose HP through a clutch. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I would like to see some data on that as well bunker. I was planning on going with the aluminum flywheel to try and minimize weight when I buy mine, but I know if you add rotating mass over stock you will suffer some hp/tq loss mainly because now the engine also has to accelerate the heavier clutch. Hopefully someone will chime in with some 1/4 mile data.

According to the article in the latest Grassroots Motorsports rag, even if the new clutch is heavier than the old one, if it's majority of weight is in the center of the clutch, there should be a gain. You're more worried about the weight on the OUTER edge of the clutch/flywheel combo. So it might take some math to figure out.

You shouldn't loose much if any from the added weight.. .. Launching on Slicks is sure to be fun especially if your a first timer.. ;D

wait a minute, you're saying I shouldn't loose any HP with the Mcleod? Are you sure about that? this center weight thing is interesting but I'm sure its got most of the weight on the sides not the center.
