do they make a "spark plugs wrench"?

With the groty LTs on my car is litterally impossible to pull any of the first three plugs on the passenger side of the car without removing the header, which is also a b1tch. There is enough room there were a wrench should be able to remove the plugs, but the regular 5/8" wrench can't into that groove (back where the threads of the plug are), the groove is perfect for the socket, but not a boxed end wrech.. does anyone make a spark plugs wrench?

get a 5/8" gear wrench. it only takes 5 degrees or rotation for it to work, its only like no space at all needed.

I tried this, didn't really work cuz there with how little room there is on the passenger side bank. I noticed the guy who built my engine was pulling the plugs on this side with a wrench and told me to notice what a b1tch this is on my car with these groty headers. I just couldn't quite figure out how the hell he got a wrench to fit into that groove and grip the plug.

are the head shanks on these thinner than just a regular wrench? will it fit into that small groove in the block where the plug is in?

I have used an offset 5/8 wrench on the plugs before, that works well.
Right now the best way I have found so far is a shortened spark plug socket with a 19MM or 3/4 " gear wrench.
Im using Pacesetter LTs.

If you have not taken off the alternator take it off it isn't hard to do it and trust me it will save you time. I just did my spark plugs in a little over two hours. Good Luck I hate doing it so i feel your pain

Re: do they make a "spark plugs wrench"?

not sure if this will help you guys, i had shorty 1 5/8 primary sanderson conversion headers on my 89 s-10 / lt4 conversion motor. #6 was next to impossible to get to, I ended up getting a 1/2" drive short 5/8" socket, grinding down two sides, slipping it over the plug and use a wrench to break it loose. the 1/2" drive is the important part, it clears the ceramic on the plugs. hope this helps in some way or another.

I can reach the front two with a 5/8" wrench from the top with the alternator on, I can also reach the rear plug on the passenger side, thats no problem with the LTs and AIR and EGR out of the way, I will definietly pick up a 5/8" offset wrench... i'm gonna have to try that out.. hopefully I can figure something out to get the 3rd plug back on the passenger side, cuz taking the starter off with these groty LTs requires dropping the header and thats no fun. Thanks for the help.

Re: do they make a "spark plugs wrench"?

2 hours.. hope it doesnt take me that long each time, right now i've been having some tuning issues and have been needing to pull the plugs and clean them off cuz the car keeps flooding out the motor with fuel and that fouls out the plugs in about 5 secs. I've seen 6 out of the 8 out and back in about 15 mins, the back two on the passenger side have been a little neglected cuz they are a b1tch and third one requires pulling the header, I can kindof understand why these groty headers are no longer produced, lol, they look sweet, but they are a pain to work around.
