I had all sorts of issues with the taylor 8mm stuff too. Only good thing about them is if you send them back, they will send you a new set.

I had good luck with Accel 300+, and also the accel 9000s.

Right now on the car i have accel 300+ for standard SBC 8.8mm and they are great too (not an option for the opti guys though, just the 8mm)

I've been using Taylor 8mm spiro pros in the stock size for 3 years and 10k miles now. No problems with them other than I tore one wire installing them, with the SLP single cat headers #5 is a bitch. Tried to make sure the boot was snapped on the plug using a flathead screwdriver and tore that wire at the boot. Replaced that one and they have been working great for several years now, no complaints.

I got 50,000 miles out of my first set of Taylor's. I bought another set and ohmed them out together and the old ones were almost as good as the new ones. I kept them for extras. I don't think I'll get any different kind.
