Exclamation Do NOT Order Parts from Racenet/IRS!

Moderator, you might want to make this a sticky. If anything, others can learn from my bad luck.

Do NOT order anything from Racenet Performance in Texas, also known as Internet Racer's Supply. Their number is 1-888-469-7223. Their web site: www.racenet.net.

On April 20, 2003, I ordered some automotive parts from this company via the Internet. My account was charged the total sum of $824.25 on April 21, 2003. I received some of my order roughly 1 week later. However, I still have not received the 2 major items of my order, part #’s CCA 82006 (Zex bottle heater) and CCA 82018 (Zex nitrous kit), which total $665.90.

I have been in contact with Racenet regularly since then, sending emails every few days and calling them on the phone every week (their email address is tech@racenet.net). They don’t answer the emails, and when I call, the answer I get is the same each time: “Those 2 parts are coming directly from Zex, they should be there any day now.” They said they ordered the parts directly from Zex to be shipped to me.

The problem with their statement is, I have been in contact with Zex as well. They were actually very helpful. I spoke with Joe at 1-888-817-1008. His extension is 535. They looked through their system and wholesalers as well, and they do not have any record of any order being placed by Racenet, and have no orders being shipped either to my address or name, or Racenet’s address or name. Zex also has plenty of the items listed above in stock, and have had them for quite some time, so it’s not a case of them not having the items until now. And when I asked them how long it takes for something to get shipped when they receive an order, they said “right away”. And it’s been almost a month now.

Racenet said they would look into it and call me right back, which of course they never did, so I’m not getting anywhere with them. I called back, and "Gee", who is one of the guys answering the phones, said, "I contacted Comp Cams, they said it'd be there tomorrow." I just said "OK" and hung up, knowing full well it was B.S. Funny, I thought I ordered a Zex kit, not a cam.

Join the club. I have been waiting over 2 weeks for my order and have yet to see anything.

I have contacted them and they shipped to a completely wrong address. No phone call, no email of tracking number and a very rude employee on the other end of the line.

I would have just had them refund my money but that would have taken at least another 2 weeks.

Again, the shipment was supposed to arrive yesterday and no sign of the UPS man.

Never again will I order from them....which is too bad, I'm doing a HUGE buildup and one company other than them is going to get a good amount of money from me for parts.

I never got the chance to order from them. I tried calling them some year or so back when they were moving. I was going to get solid Moroso motor mounts, no one answered a few times, so I got my polyurethane ones from Thunder Racing.

Also, Zex?

This happened to me also. I ordered a cam and springs on Dec3, 3 months later after countless emails and phonecalls I got them to cancel my order. I ordered from cmotorsports the next day and had everything in a week.

just as an FYI before ordering anything from a company you may want to do a search on this board for others experiences...this particular company comes up extremely often and people get taken a lot.

Anyone with a bad experience thought of turning them in to the BBB? (Better Business Bureau)

http://complaints.bbb.org/Welcome.asp

There's where you need to go to file a complaint.

This issue seems to be more and more frequent with these internet retailers that don't stock any parts, and have stuff drop shipped.

Agreed, there are worth the high prices. Summit is also great.

Exclamation F#*K RACENET !!!!!

They play the same sh#t with me. No responce, Didn't answer there phones. Took 3 months to get my money back on an order I cancled, Because it took them 3 weeks to get my order together. The only reason I got my money back because I file a dispute with my credit card company. They would not responde to the credit card company ether. F#*king A-Holes.

I guess I'm fortunate enough to have a local Chevrolet dealership that has a performance parts center. They can order most any part from most manufactuerers...Plus, I get parts for wholesale prices so they're often cheaper than Jegs or Summit.
For things I have had to mail order, I give good marks to Jegs, Summit, and Thunder Racing.
