Cool

No.
Change oil every 3000 mi
Change coil wire every 6 months or so.
Change spark plugs(non plats)every year or so.
Change spark plug wires every one to two years or so(Your choice).Change the fuel filter every 2 years or so.
If the car has over 60,000 mi on it ,change the cat.
Change the trans fluid every year(auto).
Change the rear with 80-90w with additive from G.M. every 3 years or so.(15,000 to 20,000 mi)
Change the coolant every year with the green stuff(93's especially) every year.
Run a very good quality battery(400 amps or better).
Do not run the car though the car wash(If they spray up towards the opti spark.)
Change out the water pump every 50,000 mi or so.
(If not, they go south and drip onto the distibutor and cause havik.)
Have the tires balanced every 5000mi or so,because if the wheel is spinning away from the tire more than 1/2 inch, they go out of balance.
Change the thermostat every 3 years or so(your choice)
Change out the hoses every 4 years or so.
Change the drive belt every 2-3 years or so.

Get the Taylor Spiral Pro wires and then get the NGK TR55 plugs. Those are great wires and plugs to go with. They will probably cost about $75 for both.

When the car is broken in and friction is low, you can 'gain' some power versus brand new. Some people find power just in expensive machine work, tearing it down over and over again and machining things for that perfect, low friction low leakdown engine. As time goes on though, yes the car will have more blowby and some leakage past the valves, worn bearings allowing for some clearance slop. If you take care of the car though these things are pretty minor.

You have friction inside the engine and thats all there is too it, it seems to me somewhat amazing that engines can last as long as they do.

At 100k a normally serviced car gets a fair amount replaced, O2 sensors, plugs, wires, I'm sure you can find a list of most of the stuff. Some GM websites provide service check stuff, MSN had the same thing in fact, probably still free(?)

awsome camaro site

www.mygmlink.com

This site is super sweet. It has all the service listings for your specified camaro. Lets you know when to do your fixes. You can buy a new "owners manual" and "service manual" here too.

I recommend this site to anyone with a camaro.

There was no topics on shock replacement though??? or bushings

aslong as your not loosing compression which you prolly will just a bit pas the oil rings, just change valve springs & other small things & it'll all be fine, I doubt you'll see any power loss, make sure cc's are clean, pistons are clean, intake, etc.. just fine....

Shocks are rated to last 30k, but it depends on driving habits as well. As for bushings, you will see them when you grease the chassis, so check on em then.
