Do I need to pull hub to remove vented opti?

Do you need to pull the crank hub to remove a VENTED (95+) opti? I've seen posts that say that the hub can stay on, but it seems like the vent tube is in the way of it clearing the hub. I haven't struggled with it too much yet. Just wanted to check and see if the hub needs to come off before I get too frustrated. I'd prefer not to remove the hub if I don't have to for obvious reasons.

Thanks!

you have to remove the round part (Damper), but not the hub itself. Just line it up with two "ears" on top and the opti will come right out.

Hmm...my "ears" are on top and the lower vent tube is hitting one of the ears, but it looks like it might clear if I turn the hub a little hit to the right. I guess I should struggle with it a bit longer. So, you are talking about a vented opti, right? It looks like it would be easier with a non-vented opti. Thanks.

I've had my opti off a couple of times and don't remember having to remove the hub. I know I didn't now that I think of it.

No need to remove the hub. Use this opti guide to see where to position the hub for easy opti removal. http://www.streetillusionsracing.com.../opti/opti.htm
