Arrow Do I need to change lifters @ 150k?

Is it going to be okay not to replace the lifters...? I'm rebuilding and on a budget... but I dont want to have to do this again soon.

For what it's worth, one of the lifters in my LT1 B body pumps up slow on the first start every morning it's below 50. Below 20 and the tick is nasty for 15 seconds. Quiets down after 45 seconds, but I woudn't put it in a rebuild. 146,000 on that lifter.

IT DEFINATELY should be part of a rebuild...Dont come crying on cz28.com when you have a collapsed lifter... they are vital

If you are doing a real rebuild, you replace all that stuff.

What Shoebox said. Don't spend the time and money and not rebuild wear items. The "Rebuilding LT1 LT4 Engine" book has good guidance on which parts you can safely keep, and which parts should be replaced.

If I was going for the whole enchilida, I would replace the lifters. Easy insurance.
