Do cammed Lt1's have any engine longevity problems?

I have the hot cam kit with the timing chain and springs. I was just wondering will this motor last just as long as a stock cammed car? any experiences

any time you crack the motor open, reliablity goes down.

Yup....but the fun level goes up.

Just about anything you do has a chance of effecting longetivity...that's part of the game. Minor things won't have much of a drastic change though.

It's all relative.....to some it's the be all end all of modifications...to others it's a night in the garage with a 6 pack

Bah! Reliability is in the details and how you treat it. It does not have to go down at all. Depending on what you are doing, it may actually go up.
