Do 17x11s hook that much better than 17x9.5s
The 17x11s are badass, and I was going to get them, but I'd rather have the same size on all 4 corners for two reasons -
1. tire rotations
2. 315/35/17 tires are $$$$$ unless you get nittos which I don't want to do on a daily driver
so IMO, get 17x9 or 17x9.5 on all 4 corners

hmm... I'm running DR's out back anyway... so no Rotation for me anyways...
Maybe something to do when I get it painted this spring (Crosses fingers).
Anyone know the right offset you need for the 17x11s, because I'm going to have my stockers widened?

The difference lies also in the tire. nitto and bfg is two different wheels. on the street I would run a nitto, at the track a bfg.
The difference now if you are running a 9" width and 11" width with same kind of tire ( street, drag radial ) there is some difference. but if you are not making a huge amount of power, or not modifed the car much, you won't notice that much of a difference.
But if you are making any serious power, there is a nice feel with the larger wheels. It all depends on your setup, also with suspension.
Now on the offset, you can either get the 38/50 + mm offset in the front.
or 50/56 + mm offset in the rear.
I personally like the look of the grand sport offset on trans ams. I had them on my 99 TA. that offset is 50/56 ( front /rear )
Hope that helps.

I have them and love it. I've had numerous compliments on them also. I figure I drive on the road more than at the track so I'd rather have the look.
As far as traction goes...my gadamm 245 GSC's had better traction than these Dunlop 315s but I think its just the tire. As far as the rotation thing goes, I have pretty even wear and the back tires are slightly more worn (of course) but I think I'll change them together anyway. Got about 25k outta them so far.
