DMH E- Cutout (kind of long)

I'm trying to get this installed on my car, and of course in the lovely state of VA the electric part is illegal, no problem. I have them install everything except that part (even ran the electrical work) and I will put the electric part on myself. Now they are telling me that the nuts that hold it on will not come off once installed, and I need it off during vehicle inspection time (once a year). Is this true? I have to have it inspected with the cap in place to pass.

Did they say why? I'm guessing they are going to be "sunk" into the "stud holes?"

I have a DMH unit and I don't believe that's true. You should be able to remove the motor anytime you choose. It simply bolts on to the cutout, much the same way a standard cover does, w/ bolts and nuts. That would not make sense that once you installed the motor it could never be removed....
Thanks!

You know the special nuts that come with the unit to reach the studs through the machined aluminum, those are the ones he said are permanent, I also disagree, but I wanted to be sure. thanks

It sounds like Dave is still using the same nuts as I have on mine, in which case, yes, they are removeable. They are a locking style, meaning they won't vibrate off, but they'll come off with a socket wrench.
