Ditch the LT1 for Gen1 SBC??
I hate how expensive everything is for the LT1. How much work/effort/cost is it to swap in an older carb'd SBC? I figure the motor will bolt right in. Clearance for the distributor? T-56 bolt right up? Clearance for a roots blower with a cowl hood? Pacesetter LT headers bolt right up?
The car is the daily driver for the next 2 years, but after that its going to live at the dragstrip/ sunday cruiser. I figure I can buy suspension/brakes/rear end upgrades for now and not upgrade the LT1 at all if this conversion is possible and a cheaper route. Any advice appreciated.
