Dissapointed with cc305

Wow am i a little dissapointed. I finally made it to the track with my CC305 and 1.6 rr. And I was slower then my stock times in all aspects. Now i know the car has the potential to bring in better numbers and im gonna get them my question is what should i do to help it out more. I know its pulling timing in with the stock tune. So my questions are listed. Whats should be done next?
1. Get a mail order tune or actually wait and have it Dynoed tuned in the spring?
2. Get Long tube or shortie headers? Im leaning twoards Pacesetter Long
3. LT4 knock module (just ordered it)
4. What rear end gear. Currently 3.42 stock.
Any help is apprciated guys. Mind you im on a budget not a small one but not large either. And if i left something off the list then by all means suggest it i gotta get this thing running.

when I put the cc305 originally, the car didn't run much better.
You need computer tuning and LT headers and you'll get very different results!|

Re: Dissapointed with cc305

you definetly need to let that cam breathe... you wont be getting great gains without headers or any aftermarket exaust.... get some headers and a cutout and your times will probably be alot better

Re: Dissapointed with cc305

It went from a consistant 13.8 in stock form to running 14.6 consistantly with the cc305 and it was in like weather and track conditions. Thanks for the help guys i appriciate it. Keep the information coming and ill keep posted on the progress cause as it looks, it will probably be the winter project to get the thing where i want it. Mid to low 13's is my goal.

You should get mid/low 13's pretty easy with the CC305. I ran the 12.97 with the CC305, 1.6 Rockers, K&N CAI and Mac headers. on PCMforless programming. It was a sloppy run at Milan Dragway also.

Re: Dissapointed with cc305

My car ran 13.3 when I first got it....At the time it had the cam, Hypertech (Whoo Hoo) Edelbrock Shorties (Oh Yeah), 1.6 Rockers, with Flowmaster catback (Yee Ha)....So there is room for improvement there....Do what I did....First as Stated above get the tune....That will make a big difference...And as you can afford them get the supportting mods , Headers ect....I'm running 12.3's with Longtubes ,Elec WP, True dual exhaust, So there is much potential there...just give it time....Don't give up on the CC305...
