Finally went to the track tonight for the first time since I put my Hotcam kit in over a year and half ago. The car has felt a little down on power lately, but I didn't think it was too bad until tonight. Most of my runs were in the 14.1@ 102 vicinity, and my best run of the night was a 13. 844@104 with a 2.21 60'. I know that's not stellar driving on my part, but shouldn't it be faster than that?

Re: Disappointed with new times.
If u got that 60ft time down to below 2 you would run a mid 13. Other then that I cant think of anything. Get some good traction and then we can go from there.

Re: Disappointed with new times.
I'm pretty sure something's outta wack; I just don't know where to start looking. I have a miss at idle that a new opti and the delteq/plugs and wires didn't even phase. Nor did adjusting the rockers several times. Could that be indicative of a much larger problem than I thought it was?

Re: Disappointed with new times.
Try a compression test.

delteq should have fixed it assuming you have new plugs

Re: Disappointed with new times.
Your car will not run right with the new cam until you get it tuned PERIOD! I highly recommend MadZ. I was running 13.17 @ 104 with bolt ons. I then installed an XE 224/230 cam and 2500 stall and was only running 13.11. After a custom program from madZ, (previously a hypertec program), I immediately jumped to 12.68 @ 109. After tweaking things more, I am running 12.30' @ 111. You have to get that thing tuned! Don't be discouraged yet. You do need to get some tires on that thing too!

Re: Disappointed with new times.
His car is tuned. Sounds like some other problem to me. I'd also recommend doing a compression test.

Re: Disappointed with new times.
May even be a broke valve spring. That woudl explain the miss.

Re: Disappointed with new times.
Sorry,
I didn't read past the first part of the thread. I see that you have tuning done. It still sounds like an improper rocker adjustment even though you have tried re-adjustment several times. I think the earlier suggestion of a compression test is a good starting point.

Re: Disappointed with new times.
change your fuel filter and check your injectors. they will definetly cause a miss.

Re: Disappointed with new times.
They're both new. I changed the fuel filter when the miss began and the injectors just recently.

Re: Disappointed with new times.
You might try hooking it up to a diagnostic scan tool. I am running faster than that with stock internals and a DA of 5000+.

Re: Disappointed with new times.
I've got an AutoXray, but I can't find anything remotely out of the ordinary. It ran faster at the track after I removed the battery power for a few minutes, so I'm leaning toward a sensor of some sort. Today, when I was driving, I noticed that whenever the car was at idle or fully closed throttle at crusing RPM the left BLM quickly dropped to 108 but as soon as I got back on the gas it went right back up to around 128. What could cause that?
