Question Disabled VATS, now can I...

get a regular key made and start the car then take the key out of the ignition without turning the car off like I could in my 3rd gen camaro? Just curious

you could take the key out of your thirdgen becuase the teeth and tumblers were worn down quite a bit. i used to be able to do that in my thirdgen but when i had a new key made i couldn't. being able to pull it out has more to do with age then with the chip on the key.

if you bypass the vats with resistors (I'm assuming you know how to do this) start the car up and disconnect your little resistor fabrication. The computer will sense a fault in the system and disable it. You'll have a constant Security light until you get the right key pelet or just wire the resistors in permanently.

If you don't know how to do it, check out this website for the resistor values you need to try, if you don't know what your key is.
