For anybody who has pulled their stock dipstick for whatever reason, how far is it inserted into the engine? I'm pulling mine for a header install and I've been fighting it for a while now. I've got about 3/4 of an inch pulled out and I'm wondering how much farther I have to go.

 

Its been a while...i would say 3 inches...keep wiggling,twisting,pulling....spray a lil WD 40 too... Also you can clamp vise grips..(not too tight,and tap em with a hammer)good luck.Anything else ya need help with...just ask..I have done a few.

 

I ended up getting it out...I would imagine it's about 3 to 4 inches. I'll post tomorrow with some pictures just incase the question pops up again.

 

Yep, I would say it's atleast four inches. I was quite shocked. The old school sbc's were only a couple of inches at the most.
