Dilema.

Okay. This morning the mains were chattering BIG TIME. I'm also having transmission trouble. So now I'm faced with an immediate powertrain/drivetrain failure. So, I know where I can get an LS1 Complete(ECM, wiring harness, all the sensors) and a complete T56. Am I better off getting my tranny and engine repaired or going with the complete LS1 swap?

Re: Dilema.

Is the LS1 new? If used, how many miles on it? I'm an LS1 fan.

Re: Dilema.

If the LS1 is problem free, I'd say do it. Did it come out of a wrecked car? If so, how bad? If totaled you may want to stay away b/c the internals probably have been knocked around a bit & out of whack.

Re: Dilema.

It did come out of a wrecked car. But the car drove before the engine and trans were removed.

Re: Dilema.

Do you know ithe extent of the damage? Was it wrecked on the front or rear end, side?

I'm not sure of the extent of the damage.

Re: Dilema.

Well, if it was drivable after the wreck, it couldn't have been that bad. But if it was a head on collision, you might want to steer clear. Just my opinion.
