Difficult starting after sitting for awhile
This is bugging the crap out of me. If I let my car sit overnight it will be almost impossible to start. Today I actually killed my battery trying to get it started, put a charger on it for a bit, then tried again and it finally started, and once it starts it runs fine.
Once its warm it'll have absolutely no problem starting. I can shut it off and even a few hours later it'll start right up. I haven't the slightest clue what could cause this. The battery, opti, and coil are all no older than about a year.
I can only guess its a starter or wiring problem, but I'd like some input, maybe someone has had a similar problem??

The check valve in the fuel pump is a pretty common problem that can cause hard starts. You can verifty by using a fuel pressure gauge. Put the key in the run position and the fuel pressure should jump up and hold steady. If it bleeds down rapidly, then you have a problem. Has this happened before, or did it just start? Also, have you had the battery load tested? Are all the connections clean and corrosion free? Furthermore, it may be possible that you have a parasitic drain somewhere. Some ideas for you to check out.
It just started about 3-4 days ago. It keeps on trying to start so I doubt it has to do with the battery. And since it ran fine once started I didn't think it could be a fuel problem. I do have a fuel pressure gauge though so I can easily check that.
This has never happened before, at least not while I've owned the car (about 3 years). How can I test battery load?
I could get a datalog if that would be of any help.
