Different Airbag setup for 93-95 and 96-97?

Im putting a 96 lt1 in a 95 v6 car. Im in the process of changing the exterior harness and on the old harness there is a plug for the airbag the plugs into the little black box on the radiator support. The Lt1 harness I got is for a 97 and it doesnt have an electrical plug here. IS the airbag setup different for different years or what. I still want airbags, What can I do?

I don't have the exact info...sorry... maybe Shoebox? However, the '96-'97 used a second generation airbag that deployed more slowly to reduce some of the airbag injuries that were occuring. So I would assume that there would be some hardware/wiring differences. Maybe grab a Chiltons and compare wiring schmatics?

The sensor for the later models are located in the dash. And have a sensor under the driver seat
