As far as the best year.. I'd vote 95.. with that said I have a 96 and it's a great car too.. the obd II system is a little more sensitive though so with every mod it seems I have a new code if I'm not careful.

That other post pretty much sums it all up. Major thing is the speed density and not Mass air flow. Visual wise, 93's had yellow gauges and lettering and no 'verts were available.

Like Lost said if you have plans for mods you definatly want to go with the pre obd II car. I believe that 93s had a different injection set up as well. GM changed it too the Seqentional injection and revised the igition for 94.

Wasnt there an option for a higher geared t56?? Like a 3.27 or 3.37 first gear instead of the traditional 2.66 from what I remember.

The 93 gets a close ratio 6 speed, I forget 6th gear but I think its similar to 5th on the later models, www.f-body.org/gears will tell you. Thier first gear is also different yes.

Ahh, .62 6th gear for the 93. No rear end gear swap needed with something like that.

Yes, I agree that people who put a 4.10 in their cars with that tranny are not aware of what they are doing. I guess some people just like to say they have some hot gear, or some do it because everybody else did. I know a kid who did that and he wonders why his 93 6 spd z is in the 14s on 100 shot still.
