Corvette blocks were 4-bolt main, and factory - replacement blocks were also. Other than that, they are identical.

I think you just have 2 bolt and 4 bolt. I have mine out of a iron headed cadillac fleetwood and it was the same as my old aluminum headed motor. i believe they are all the same. Oh some of the iron headed motors did come with 265 cubic in LT1's i believe they are smaller stroke and bore. I'm not sure if you can bore and stroke them back out to 350 or not.

They weren't called LT1s. They were L99s.

Well they refer to it as a LT1 there as well as my book on rebuilding the LT1.

Well...

265 - There was only one block used for the 265 cid version of the LT1. It’s a 10168588 casting that had the numbers "4.3" cast on the side, too. It’s real easy to spot if the heads are off because of the small 3.74" bore.
It says a version of the LT1, not that it is an LT1.

Also...a quote direct from HPBooks "How to Rebuild Small-Block Chevy LT-1/LT-4 Engines", by Mike Mavrigian:

"The late-model LT-1 and LT-4 small block Chevrolet engines are generically referred to as the 'second generation' small block (also referred to as SB2 or Gen II). Within the Gen II family, there are three basic configurations, including the 350 CID LT-1, the 350 CID LT-4 and the L99 265 CID. "
