The H beam rods will require less clearancing if you're doing a stroker motor.

i beams are rated around 500hp, and h beams are 700hp + on a small block (average rating depending on what brand)

you can't really rate a connecting rod by horsepower
connecting rods are limited by the mass of the piston, the speed of the engine and if the engine is driving the car or vice versa

you can destroy a connecting rod rated for 500hp, on a motor that makes 250hp, simply by reving it to 6500 in 3rd gear and drop it to 2nd gear
