difference between cutout & cutout

Whats the difference between buying and installing a cutout, or just cutting a small openeing in the exhaust pipe?

Nothing.....except you can't close off just a cut in the pipe. A cutout you can. All I did was cut the intermidate pipe since I knew I'd never want it capped. Depends on where you live and sound laws/ordinances. If you live in a busy residential area I'd consider buying one or having your local muffler shop make one. Then you can cap it during the week and uncap it on weekends or just at the track or something. That way the neighbors won't be calling the fuzz on you all the time. I live in the country, wake up nothing but the cows.
