Difference between 95 & 96 sensors, ect

Does anyone know the technical differences between a 1995 LT1's and a 1996 LT1's ignition module and block mounted knock sensor? I have seen a few online references that show the OE parts have the same part numbers, but aftermarket ones (like Borg Warner, ect) at the parts stores have different part numbers between those years. Not sure if it has something to do with OBD II vs OBD I. The connector on the ignition modules is the exact same and and visually the knock sensors look the same too? Could you use those 96 parts on a 95 OBD 1 car, afterall they are cheaper than the earlier year too in $$$.

Not sure where you saw the GM part numbers, but they are not the same between 1995 and 1996 for either the knock sensor or the ignition control module.

The knock sensors are of different impedances. Not sure what the difference is in the modules.
