new exhaust set up needed
so i get in my car one morning and i notice my exhaust sounds shrill and not quite as loud..took it to my friendly neighborhood mechanic (no joke he lives on my street and we've known him for years lol) and he mentioned something about the baffles in the muffler being shot....long story short i cant picture exactly whats wrong but im thinking ill just ditch it and go with something else....2 questions...
1) anyone have the SLP Loudmouth? How is it? I'd imagine from its lack of a real muffler its earth shattering.....
2) (NOTE inspection problems not an issue)how much would it cost to ditch the muffler, keep the tips/pipes and just weld in some pipe and a t-connector kinda thing to run dual outlets and no muffler???? This setup would sound like the world is ending correct???
as always any help appreciated

Loudmouth will be loud. Hence the name. Some people love them and others don't want thier car that loud. There's a ton of catbacks out there ranging from $250 to $750. The best thing you can do is listen to some sound clips and decide which one is best for you.
Well, with the LM and gutted cats, the car will be incredibly loud and raspy sounding. That's fine if you like it that way. Straight pipes are the same thing as the LM, only cheaper(with the same sound).
If you want something quieter and more refined, just use another system with a muffler. Hooker, SLP 20TL, Magnaflow, and Flowmaster are all fairly cheap and sound really good. The 2OTL is my favorite sounding cat-back for the LT1's.
