Difference between '93-'96 and '97 Rear Main Housing?

Difference between '93-'96 and '97 Rear Main Housing?
My engine is a '97. However, the # that came off the Rear Main Seal Housing is 14088557 (14088556 is the actual part # for the '93-96 housing)...
The '97 has a part # of 12554312.
What is the difference? Did the factory give me the wrong housing or something?
