difference in 1/4 between 3.42 and 3.73?

I have been debating on which gear to go with for a very long time now. I wan't the pull but not sure if i want to run too high of rpms when crusing around on the freeway. So i was wondering what your guys' guess is on how much of a 1/4 diff you would see between the two gears? O yea and i refuse to put a roll-bar in this car so once i hit 11's......i will have to start letting off early So i am thinking i should gear this more for the street rather than drag.......but i want the hard pull of 3.73's too This isn't a daily driver either.

If you have 3:23 now going to a 3.42 would be useless. A 3:73 would be better but I went from 2:73 to 4:10 in my A4 and I LOVED it! I had a stock stall with no shift kit and it was still a blast to drive. I only turned around 2500 at 65mph in over drive.

i been waiting to do gears on my 93 but i just wanted to know how much of a difference it would make. guess on my next check im doing 3.73's. did you guys buy just the gears or did you guys need to buy a kit with some other stuff included?oh and BTW 93Z did you need to change the gears in the tranny tailshaft(correct me if im wrong)?

no hijacking intended

Gear install kits make things much nicer and replace some of the worn parts. I would strongly recommend a rear girdle cover. They strengthen the rear and significantly.
