Did you spin a bearing or not after cam install??

Well, its coming to be my "Camshaft Awakening" and I'm starting to have the nail biting worries about spinning.

I have worked on cars since I was 14, and am not afraid of the install, but a lil anxious about the unknowns. I have rebuilt RX-7 13B motors before, but never a piston engine and this will be my first time tearing one...err...laying one open.

I have read posts labeled "Post here if you did spin" and "post here if you didn't spin" but all I have come up with "be clean, and the rest is to chance"

I know to be super clean, and I will be following shoebox's write-up to the T, but this might helpmy apprehensiveness.

Knock on wood, so far so good. Shift points set at 6400. And can say it won't spin one for at least 5 more months. It's sleeping in the garage till spring.

I did but it was from running it with sticky tires and higher speeds at a local roadcourse. I think if I would have put the money into the canton road race pan and a high volume pump up front the problem never would have happened. It is fixed now and has seen two track days since then and it is perfectly fine.

Looking back I would defintely do this again, I would put the money into the pan and pump up front though.

I search before I post most times and try not to repeat. Thanks for the point in the right direction though Shoebox. You came through again.

That post was started in 2004 so I guess a recent one wouldn't hurt...even though it is redundant to some though.
