Mine does the same thing. I replaced the opti plugs and wires. Also i had my fuel injectors serviced. But it still misses. It pisses me off. I been trying to fix this miss for almost 2 months now. I can't figure it out. If you figure anything out let me know i will let you know if i do.

I had the same problems and it ended up being a Bad O2. If you guys can get your hands on a scan tool that would be your best bet, with LT1 edit we targetted the bad o2 right away. Hope you can resolve your problems, I know how much of a pain it is.

some people found that changing the MAP sensor fixed their hesitation.

take the sensor off (be careful not to break the clasp when disconnecting), and see if there is carbon buildup or anything. somtimes just cleaning it up with carb cleaner fixed some peoples problems.

my auto part store had them for $29, but its almost impossible to find the little rubber seal that you need, so hopefully your stock one is ok.

i changed mine, but apparently that wasnt my prob, i think i need new o2's.

My plugs and wires are new as well as my coil wire. My opti is new. I'm not sure how you can install it wrong besides not plugging in the wires to it correctly. I don't think it is my o2 sensors because it does it right when i start my car. I don't know about the icm. I had my fuel injectors serviced so i don't think that is the problem but i guess it still could be. Would a clogged fuel filter effect only 1 cylinder?

I've been having the same problems, my car is a 93, don't have a MAF, but just everything else is the same as yours.

BTW, did just about everything, meaning changing the Opti, plugs & wires, O2, fuel filter, coil, fuel injectors cleaned, there's only three other things left to do:

MAF-- I don't have to worry about that, I don't have one.

ICM-- Been there, done that...Well, if replacing the EGR doesn't work...

EGR--

Hmmm...EGR...
Lots of folks been having some stuff that may be the EGR valve, some of the symptoms are erratic idle, hesitation btwn 1000-2000rpm, and backfiring...

The only problem with those symptoms, is that they MIGHT be the same symptoms as a bad Opti, plugs/wires, O2's, ICM. Maybe even a dirty throttle body? Clogged cat?

WTF???

My experience with my car is that, whenever I have done a code scan, it never registers anything wrong with the sensors...

So I have been replacing everything else. Someone told me that the sensors don't register bad unless they're REALLY BAD...

And check this out, this mechanic ALSO tells me that if the said sensors are running fairly okay, then they won't register as bad??? Can anyone verify/nullify this assumption from a reputable mechanic?

The EGR valve, although connected to vacuum hoses and the EGR solenoid, can get clogged, bad, whatever, and the EGR sensor will still register okay via the scanner...???

That sucks!

Anyway, guess what I'm doing this weekend?

Hmmm...Maybe, possibly, replacing the
EGR?
