Your bearings are fine. If you had to jam on it to get them out, I'd probably have them looked at. If it slid out nice and slow, a little rubbing wouldn't hurt them. The cam spins on them all day. I wouldn't think twice about it.

Your sentence is very hard to understand. "when i took the stock came out"

If you were just swapping the cam, why were you tapping on the cam bearings?

I'm having trouble figuring out what you were doing.

I think he means when he was pulling out the cam he tapped the bearings with the cam a little. The cam rubbed his bearings a little on it's way out... Right?

Yea, when i was taking the stock cam out, i slighty tapped the bearings with one or two of the journals, not hard at all, but i just want to make sure they are not totally messed up before i install everything back up.

ALSO

it there a certain way the cam goes in to be in time, or sumthing. Not too sure. I was told just to slide it in right.

Man I cant believe you are installing a cam and know nothing about setting the timing. Basically all you do is line up the dots on the crank and cam gears of the timing chain. Making sure the #1 piston is at TDC the crank gear should be lined up correctly.. at 12 o'clock. Then the cam needs to be spun around till the dot on the cam gear is at 6 o'clock. It is very important you do this step correctly or you will end up with a poor running motor at best.

Re: Did i mess up my cam bearings??

the best way is to get a cam degree kit. if you boght the cam new there's a 99% chance that it will be fine. but just for insurance degreeing it is is your best bet. (becuase comp cams makes thousands of cams, it might get ground a little off.) never know if you got that one percent... secondly, the cam bearings should be fine if a couple of the lobes barly scraped them. but you should measure the cam journals compared to the bearings to make sure you have the right oil clearance. this is important in the fact that you don't want excessive oil clearance in your engine. this can cause a problem. the best thing to do on any cam swap your not sure about is to get the bearings replaced. just looking out for your lt1's safety.

good luck
