Unhappy did i contaminate the coolant????/my temp going to 3/4

hey injuneer i think i have an idea why my temp goes to the 3/4and when it goes to thye middle of the gauge it will climb back up pretty fast when sitting in traffic or at a lite.so..when one of my hoses came undone one day and all my coolant was gone. idk y that happened, my wife got me two gallons of the dexcool the do not add water one. when i put both of the gallons in the car needed more so had to put the rest with water is it possibel that i messed up the coolant???i spoke to sum1 named rudedog and his 95 Z28 doesnt go higher then 185.also when i drive the car in the morning its around 60 degrees outside, and its kinda cold outside when i warm up the car for like 10 minutes the temp is lil bit above the 160 mark of the gauge then when i leave the gauge would stay cool as im drive the temp wont climb up.by the time i get to work which is like 15min drive the mark would be a lil bit above the middle of the the gauge. does the weather affect the temp of the car should i flush the radiator out and drain and fill up with the normal coolant (not the do not add water one)cuz could the contaminated coolant be the issue. thank u man.

The ambient temperature deos affect how hot the engine gets. Car will run cooler at 30 degrees than at 90 degrees.

There won't be any "contamination", but you might want to check the strength of the mixture with one of those simple indicators you can buy.

Yep.... you diluted the freeze protection and the boiling suppression, by adding the water. But it didn't affect the coolant's heat transfer properties... except to make it better, since water is a better coolant than ethylene glycol.
