Diagnostics say continous misfire....
Had a guy come over and look at the TA today. He put it on some sort of diagnostics, don't know what kind I wasn't here at the time. It supposedly said continuous misfire or something to that effect. He said it was probably one of 3 things, spark plug, burnt plug wire, or distributor. Anyone know about how much getting all the fixed would cost? I know the distributor is pretty hard to get to so I would have to have a shop do it but I'm just looking for a ballpark figure here. Also if anyone has any ideas on what else could possibly be causing this, that would be appreciated also.

You might want to set up a "signature" showing the year of your car, the tranny type, and any major mods, as a minimum. That kind of info is required to anwer a question like the one you asked. If the scan showed a "misfire", we can assume its a 96 or 97, since those are the only LT1's with misfire detection. Do you know the exact diagnostic code?
Generally you will get a code for "random misfire" if its the distributor, while an individual plug or wire will show up as a repeated misfire on the same cylinder number.... something you can pull up with a scanner. By knowing whether its random, or one or two specific cylinders, you might have a better chance of finding the specific problem.
