Diagnostics

I am trying to diagnose a troublesome misfire, and I was wondering what everyone's experience is with diagnostic software and scanners. Basically I just need to be able to access as many parameteres as possible in my OBDI car, so I can figure out what is going on. I also would liek to be able to expand to use it in the future for other stuff like data logging and tuning.

Any input would be appreciated.

If you're looking for free scanning software:

Here's a link for a trial version of DataMaster:

If you're just looking to monitor:

Those are just some options for you to look over. I've briefly messed around with all three.

(All this is assuming you have an interface cable www.akmcables.com and a laptop or desktop you can get close enough to your vehicle.)
