when i got the harness with my motor it did not have a diagnostic port. i've got the port but i need to know what wires from the computer go to what pin on the port.

Did you get the OBD-I 12-pin ALDL connector, or the OBD-II 16-pin connector? That will determine how you wire it up. The 95 (you indicate its a 95 LT1) has a mismatched system, using an OBD-II connector, with an OBD-I PCM. Shoebox has all the 95 wiring diagrams on his website:

If you got a 12-pin connector, you will need to look on his website for the correct pinout.
