Dex-cool or not ?

I changed from a stock water pump to a Mezierre electric. The antifreeze was green, I thought these came with orange Dex-cool ? If it's green , is it just regular anti-freeze ?

Thanks , Rick

Green is the regular stuff. Dexcool did not really come into wide use until 1996. I would stick with the green.

DON'T MIX THE TWO!!!

A combonation of the two will cause the antifreeze to gel. Over time these will clog up tiny openings and the water pump. The Dexcool is used for the all aluminum core radiators, and heater cores.

All 4th gens have aluminum radiators (and probably heater cores?).
