Another vote for leaving it in. One of the best GM tuners on the West coast won't even touch my car unless I have it in place, and stresses that it does perform a function. I have quite a few mods, and I'm nowhere near the maximum capacity of the stock MAF with the screen. There are more reasons to keep it in place unmolested than there are supporting the removal. My $0.02
