Delteq Question.

I've been thinking about going with a delteq on my car, because it seems that my opti is about to take the boot. Does the opti have to be in tip top shape for the delteq system to operate correctly? I get a miss or a stumble in the upper RPMs, which is why I started looking at the Delteq system as a replacement for my opti. But I'll pass on the delteq system and just go with the opti if the opti needs to be working properly.

Have your PCM scanned for trouble codes. The ones that are dealbreakers for a Delteq are codes 16 and 36, the ones for the high and low res pulse signals. The Delteq needs for those signals to be clean in order for it to work. If a scan reports no issues with the optical portion, then it's probably something involving either the cap, ICM, or maybe one or more bad plug wires, all of which you'll eliminate or replace with a Delteq install. (Doesn't hurt to do new plugs too.)

Clean high/low optical signals= green light for Delteq

Re: Delteq Question.

Well, I have no trouble codes currently. The last SES light I has was because of my MAF. So, I should be go if I do decide to convert to the Delteq system.
