Deleting Traction Control Questions???
I have the '97 Z28 M6 shown in the signiture below with traction control. I'm finally getting to the point where I'm thinking of deleting traction control, so I can get rid of that TC motor/control box which sits atop my driver's side valve cover.
First off, does anyone have a procedure written for deleting this option without setting any SES and/or ABS IN OP lights?
And, secondly, shoebox's web site says I need the GM P/N 12554852 ('97 non-TC) cable to delete this, but both my local GM dealer and GM Parts Direct don't carry this anymore.
Where can I get this cable?
TIA for all replies!

I'm not sure if or how the 97 might be different from my 95, but I pulled my TCS and Cruise Control at the same time and just replaced the throttle cable with one from a non-TCS car, I got mine through Dal (sorry don't have the PN here at work)...
I can't see the dealerships or parts houses not having this because there were soo many f-bodies without TCS, since it was optional, what happens if they break the throttle cable? I would call Dal and see what he can do...
*** EDIT ***
I was wrong, I did have the PN of the cable I used on my work machine, I guess I do more car stuff at work then I thought...
12550676 is what I got, and according to this post on tech it is for 94-96, not sure why 97 needs a different cable???

1SlowFormula, I am not sure either why '97 LT1's show a different GM part number for the non TCS throttle cable, but, my problem still exists......I can't find a GM dealer that still carries these.
I called another local Chevy dealer here today, and also e-mailed "customer service" at GM Parts Direct. It appears GM just stopped making these????
Anyone know any GM or aftermarket sources for these?
Again, TIA for all replies.

Dangalla, GM P/N 12550676 is supposed to be the non TCS throttle cable for '94-'96 LT1's.
Both parts guys at the two(2) Chevy dealerships I've talked to so far have told me GM P/N 12554852 is the correct non TCS cable for the '97's, but they also say GM doesn't supply them anymore??????

Anyway, does your P/N 12550676 cable work okay on your '97???

Okay, GM Parts Direct does have the P/N 12550676 non TCS throttle cable for '94-'96 LT1 Camaro's (Thanks dangalla, and 1SlowFormula!). Does anyone know what changed in '97 to make GM put out the P/N 12554852 non TCS throttle cable, and more importantly, can the '94-'96 cable be modified, (if possible?), to make it work on a '97 LT1????
TIA for any more info on this.
