Deleting ASR?

Is it easy to do? I really hate the thing because I always have to turn it off. Did earlier z28's not have this?

Re: Deleting ASR?

ASR (TCS on Firebirds) was only an option (RPO "NW9"), first available in 95 model year. It was never standard equipment. SLP used to make a kit that reversed the function of the ASR switch, so it defaulted to "off" and would only operate if you used the switch to turn it "on". That would appear to solve your problem. Not sure if SLP or someone else still makes it.

ASR is integrated with your ABS, so deleting it would probably present complications in keeping the ABS.

Re: Deleting ASR?

There was a thread that had a pretty clever way of getting rid of it. You simply replaced the throttle cable with one from a non TCS car bypassing the system. I forget if there was more involved but that was the major change.
