Deep Creep and opti vent hole

I am considering a seafoam treatment this weekend. I know about the brake booster way of getting seafoam into the upper motor. What about spraying deep creep into the opti vent hole at idle. Would that get in the upper motor more uniformly than the brake booster?

You mean in the elbow in front of the TB right?
I would worry about it pooling and most of it going through the IAC.
If you unplug the MAF and disconnect the elbow you can run the motor with the elbow off. It will set a CEL for a failed MAF but it will run so you could spray that at the blades.
If the MAF is functional and plugged in and you try to start the car with the elbow off I do not think it will start.

I am glad too see someone else who can plainly see the brake booster trick will only hit a little bit of the intake.

I would think that the motor sucks enough CFMs so that the spray would go directly through the blades and on into the upper motor. I suppose I could goose the throttle body to get the RPMs up while spraying, thus sucking in more air. What effect would this chemical have on the AIC? I did not know the motor would run without the elbow attached. Has anyone tried deep creep in the throttle body while the engine was running?

it will pool up in intake at work when we do intake services we need to spay it right in the t-b or it wont go in to well dont seafoam it take it to a shop that supports b-g products and have them do it its a 3 step process 1 cleaner threw fuel rail 1 in the throttle body and 1 in gas tank works really well

I would just be concerned with it sludging up the IAC with all the crap it knocks loose that is why I would not spray it through there. You would be amazed how little air goes around the blades at idle.

Don't use Deep Creep to bust the carbon out of the engine. It's the wrong Seafoam.

It is the same stuff just aerosol. Going through the TB I bet he gets better distribution thanthe brake boost most folks do with the non-aerosol.

Talked to a mechanic and he says they use BG 44 for upper motor cleaning. I asked him how he would do my intake and he said he would probably just remove the IAT sensor and spray directly into the TB. I asked him is it ok to hose down the IAC, he said no problem. So for those who have used Deep Creep (the aerosal can of seafoam) how fine is the spray? Is it a fine mist or does it come out like a brake cleaner spray can?

Deepcreep MIGHT tend to eat through the rubber of your elbow. I wouldn't spray it there

It seems you're a bit confused on what Deep Creep does. Deep creep is meant to be sprayed directly through your throttle body, not injected into the brake booster. If you're wanted to clean out the engine, do the seafoam treatment through the brake booster, the deep creep in through the throttle body, and a can in the gas, half a can in the oil. You can beat a $16 complete engine/fuel treatment. (each can is around $5) You're making it seem like you want to spray the deep creep in through your brake booster, which is probably a poor idea. First of all, the chemical will be in a much lower concentration since it's atmoized, pretty much defeating all cleaning purposes. Second of all, it'll be really tough to stall out your engine with an aerosol... you might want to read back over the tutorial.

You need to re-read the thread. My question is about applying Deep Creep through the TB while the motor is running...

You can Deep creep the TB... but don't expect the same results as the Brake bootster.
