dealing with AC on cam install....

i was wondering if anybody has had to bleed the lines to install a cam. i went to the street illusions page and they rotated the conderser. now on a different install page from another guy... he said he tried this method and the lines started to bend and leak so please share with me how you dealt with the AC on your cam install so ill know whether to take my car to have the AC discharged or not. thanks

personally, i didnt discharge mine before. i just rotated the condenser up and out of the way like on the site you mentioned. funny thing is, i managed to break one of the lines while reinstalling my radiator, so it all leaked out anyway if i were to do it again, i think id have it discharged. jmo

discharged mine just to be on the safe side. besides it would be good for your a/c to have it recharged anyways.

I followed that install guide for mine and just carefully moved the coil up out of the way, I didn't discharge it. The line did bend a little and it did feel like if you tried to move it to quickly you could break the line.

Doing the cam and header thing now myself. It worked fine for me too. A couple of pics below. I used one of the radiator cover bolts to hold the breaker bar. This moved it just enough so that I didnt bend any lines.

I have used the "rotate" method several times now without problem.

I'm going to try the rotate way and if it breaks, it breaks. Besides, I think there is a 25 grand fine for "knowingly" discharging your a/c yourself. Or something outrageous like that. At least mine would be "accidental" lol.
