Dead Clutch --> Puking Fluid ??

Hi guys,

I've got a 96 TA M6 with 75K miles with basic bolt-ons and the original clutch. The clutch has felt like it's been ready to be replaced but it has worked...but today when going to third gear, suddenly the clutch pedal felt like it just "broke" and went to the floor..it felt like it wasn't even connected to anything...the car left me stranded and would not go into gear...

While waiting for the tow truck I found that the fluid was empty and when adding more, it just leaked it all out. The car is now at the shop getting looked at...the mgr mentioned that the slave cylinder may be leaking and would require a tranny pull to R&R...is this true? He also recommended considering a clutch while he's dropping the tranny...I'd have to agree.

I do my own work to my cars but this is my first manual tranny car I've owned and I really know nothing about them, so I'd appreciate anybody's help....

BTW, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced clutch good for a near stock vehicle that would still be easy for my wife to drive?? I just want something a bit better than stock...this clutch always smelled when I got on it...

Thanks

Sean

As for the clutch you already know its time to replace it. If fluid is all over the place and the pedal is soft or falls to the ground, you probably busted your master cylandar or one of the lines going to it.
