Re: datalogged car........

As you can see, you lose the formatting when you copy and paste Save your file in ".csv" format and either put it somewhere on the 'net, or e-mail it to people who are willing to look at it.

If I'm counting the columns right, your MAF is locked at 2.46gps. But since you have P0100, you already know the MAF sensor is not reading correctly. 2.45 is the minimum MAF reading (other than "0") and represents a steady frequency signal of 1,488Hz.

Re: datalogged car........

Formatting sucks but it doesn't look like it is reading ariflow, disconnect your MAF and see if it runs any better or about the same? This sounds like your MAF is toast...

Re: datalogged car........

i posted that during my lunch break and didnt get to address everything.
tested the yellow, black and pink wire with it unplugged and the key in the on position. all were fine according to what i searched for in the past. then with car running we unplugged the MAF and no differnce.
so then we reset the code and i borrowed a friends MAF. known to be workin fine. same thing happened. but it did take 3 times to start, i am thinking it noticed that we changed MAFS.
anyway what would be the next thing to do?
thanks again.

p.s. i had my frined email me them logs and that is how i got them.

Re: datalogged car........

If you have a frequency meter (many low $$$ multi-meters now include them) check the output frequency from the MAF (yellow wire to black/white wire), with the engine running. Get a value at idle, then rev it up to a couple thousand RPM and see if the output frequency varies with the increased air flow.

Re: datalogged car........

ok well the damn SES light came back on monday mornin, then went off tuesday at lunch. then came back this mornin. it is still on right now.

quote form injuneer "check the output frequency from the MAF (yellow wire to black/white wire), with the engine running. Get a value at idle, then rev it up to a couple thousand RPM"
i am goin to go and do this right now.
i am thinking i have a loose wire somewhere??? i know it is throwing the MAF code, but could it be anything else? can i run the PINK wire straight to 12 volt? don tknow if that will do anything but i see that recommended b4.

anyways i would really like to get the car running correctly b4 i spray it.
thanks again

Re: datalogged car........

I have got a no signal on a snap on scanner for MAF. Is this meaning it is not even communicating. Would of thought a SES light would be thrown.

OBD-II car tuned basically it.

Thanks for any help here also.

Re: datalogged car........

You're saying that when you read the PCM with the Snap-On scanner, the MAF shows "0 grams/second"?

Re: datalogged car........

Yes the spot that has the MAF has a variable of 0. Not sure exactly what it uses for mesurement but def O. The MAP was reading -0.55 V(I think volts). I am new to the scanning. Please understand my ignorance. LOL 02's are al over 800-100 and left to right one would be at 700 other side be at 100.

I am almost sure the 02's are shot lead fuel and header install with coating.

That means there is no signal from the MAF... its hooked up, but not functioning. If it wasn't hooked up it would be reading 471 GPS (grams per second). MAP is usually indicated on kiloPascals (kPa). 0.55 would mean 55kPa. MAP can also be read from the scanner as voltage, but 0.55V would be about less than 20kPa, and you'll never see MAP that high (equivalent to 25"Hg vacuum).

Here's a writeup that may help you understand the numbers you are seeing on a scanner. The reason the "O2's are all over 800-100" is explained in there (its supposed to work that way), and I believe I explain why the right bank and left bank don't have to match.... at least not in closed loop (most driving, except cold start and WOT). Each bank of the engine is controlled independantly. There is nothing that requires that the O2 values be the same in closed loop. At WOT they should be close though.... maybe a difference of no more than 20-30mV's.
